inspiration board: coachella
With Coachella right around the corner, I thought I'd whip up a little inspiration board. While at the sun-soaked music festival, I'll be wearing comfy light weight pieces with plenty of sun protection and bohemian accessories. I love the idea of wearing a printed lounge pant, or pairing a retro swimsuit with denim shorts--and of course a great hat is a must. Comfortable and versatile, these chic looks will take you from day to night!

party flavors
Tis the season to make ridiculous things that you would never eat on your regular diet. Here is a great appetizer that is sure to wow the crowd and simple to make!
Baked Brie with Apple Compote: Sauté 1 1/2 - 2 apples in 1-2 tbsp. butter and 1/4 c. brown sugar with a dash of cinnamon (approx. 15 min). Let cool.
Place cooled compote over your favorite brie (I used 1/2 of a large Alouette wheel) and wrap in puff pastry. Tip: To save time you can purchase pre made frozen puff pastry dough at the market. Brush with egg wash and bake 375 until golden brown.

cupcake shots
With three Christmas parties down and one more to go I am officially in the holiday spirit (listen to my jazzy playlist here)! This year I created a special treat for my friends. The heart of any cupcake is really in the frosting; in this case I combined espresso and Bailey's for a "spirited" holiday flavor. Please eat responsibly.
To make frosting: cream butter then add powder sugar until well combined (1/2 lb. butter : 1 1/2 lbs. sugar). Add a 1 tsp. of vanilla and 1 tsp. of almond extract along with 1/4 c. Bailey's. Add 1/2 tbsp. of espresso grounds. Finish with a crumbled toffee garnish.

outside lands

favorite moments top to bottom: arcade fire, muse
OutsideLands reminded me of how much I love San Francisco and all it has to offer: wonderful people, gorgeous sights and delicious bites (the festival food was unreal). I will be back soon.

throw down

decorpad.com
A fun twist to a very old classic, I love the texture and warmth created by these faux fur throws (at least I hope they're fake...eeks!). Picked up a coyote throw from Restoration Hardware to drape over my bed. These rooms are calm and light and perfectly bohemian.
